Custom Web Application Development

Web platforms engineered to load fast, rank well and still be running years after launch.

What is web development?

Custom web development is the design and engineering of a web application built for how your business actually works, rather than configured from a template. RegalBit Solutions has built web platforms since 2017 in React, Next.js, Angular, Vue.js and Laravel, from marketing sites that need to rank through to multi tenant SaaS products, document signing platforms and geospatial ordering systems.

There are two honest categories of web project and they should not be built or priced the same way. A brochure site that needs to look credible and rank well is a content and performance problem. A portal where customers log in, upload documents, make payments and track status is a software problem. Most agencies build both the same way, which is why the second category so often fails eighteen months in.

We build marketing sites as statically generated Next.js. Genuinely fast, cheap to host, and structured for search from the first commit rather than retrofitted afterwards. This very site is built that way and deploys to ordinary shared hosting.

For applications we build a real backend. A normalised PostgreSQL or MySQL schema, an authenticated API, role based access, audit trails and automated backups. Boring choices, deliberately. The projects we still support from 2018 are the ones where we resisted the fashionable option.

The frontend depends on what already exists. React and Next.js for new work, Angular where the team or the codebase is already there, Vue where it fits. We have shipped substantial products in all three, including an Angular and Laravel document signature portal and a Vue and Laravel multi tenant SaaS.

Deliverables

What we build

Marketing and SEO websites

Statically generated, structured data included, Core Web Vitals in the green from launch rather than as a later project.

Customer portals and dashboards

Authentication, roles, document handling, payments, notifications and audit trails.

SaaS products

Multi tenant architecture, tiered plans, subscription billing and section level access control.

Internal business systems

The tools that replace the spreadsheet everybody is scared to touch.

CMS and WordPress

Custom themes and plugins where content editing by non technical staff is the priority.

Maintenance and support

Security patching, dependency upgrades, monitoring, backups and someone who answers.

Process

How a web development project runs

Written scope and a fixed quote before anything is built, then visible progress at every stage.

  1. 1

    Discover

We map what the software must do, who uses it and what it must integrate with. Written scope, quoted before work starts.

  2. 2

    Design

Wireframes, then interface design in your brand, led by our own designer. You approve screens before code is written.

  3. 3

    Build

Two week iterations on a staging URL you can open at any time. No surprise reveals.

  4. 4

    Test

Cross browser, cross device, accessibility and performance testing by a dedicated tester, plus your own acceptance testing.

  5. 5

    Launch

Deployment, redirects, analytics, Search Console and thirty days of included support.

Who this is for

You will get the most from this if…

Tricity businesses replacing a dated site

The current site was built years ago, loads slowly and does not appear in search for anything except its own name.

Founders who need a real product built

You have a validated idea and need engineers who will still be here in year three.

Companies outgrowing spreadsheets

The business runs on a shared workbook that only one person fully understands.

Engineering rates

What this costs

We publish a rate band rather than a project price, because a project price without a scope is a guess. Once we understand the work we convert it into a fixed written quote, so you carry no open ended risk.

Web Development

From $10 / hour

Typical band: $10 to $28 per hour

A content site sits at the lower end. Application work with authentication, payments and integrations sits higher. Fixed scope quotes are available once requirements are written down.

Why us

What makes this different from the other quote you are getting

An eight person engineering team, with a dedicated designer and a dedicated tester, shipping production software since 2017. The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it.

  • Eight years of production systems, several still running and supported since 2018. Longevity is the metric almost nobody quotes.
  • SEO is built into the architecture, with metadata, structured data, sitemaps and Core Web Vitals, rather than sold separately afterwards.
  • A dedicated designer and a dedicated tester on the team, so design and QA are not the developer's side job.
  • You own the source code and the hosting accounts from day one. We hand over repositories, not a login to something we control.

Questions

Web Development, frequently asked questions

Our rates start from ten US dollars an hour and the total depends on page count, content readiness and how much of it is application logic rather than content. We convert that into a fixed written quote once the scope is agreed. You will find far cheaper offers locally; those are template installations, and we will tell you honestly when that is genuinely what you need.

Three to six weeks for a marketing site once content is ready, and eight to twenty weeks for an application. Content readiness is the single most common cause of delay, so we start collecting it in week one.

Yes, where it suits: content heavy sites with non technical editors. For applications, and for sites where performance and security matter most, we recommend Next.js or Laravel. We explain the trade off rather than defaulting to whichever is easier for us.

The build gives you the technical foundation: fast loading, clean structure, correct metadata, structured data and a sitemap. Ranking also needs content, reviews and links over time. We are explicit about that division rather than promising page one at launch.

Yes, completely. Repositories, hosting accounts, domain and database are yours from day one and formally transferred at handover.
