E-Commerce Development and Integration

Storefronts that convert, connected to the payment, inventory and shipping systems behind them.

What is e-commerce development?

E-commerce development covers the storefront a customer sees and the systems behind it that take payment, track stock and ship the order. RegalBit Solutions builds on Shopify, WooCommerce and custom stacks, and because payment gateway and API integration is one of our core specialisms, the parts that usually break are the parts we are strongest at.

Most store projects go wrong after launch rather than during it. Stock counts drift because the marketplace and the internal system are not reconciled. Orders reach the courier late because somebody exports a spreadsheet each afternoon. A refund is processed in the gateway but never reflected in the accounts. Every one of those is an integration problem, not a design problem.

So we treat the store and the operations behind it as a single system. Checkout with Stripe, Razorpay or PayPal. Inventory synchronised between channels on a schedule with a divergence alert. Orders pushed to your courier partner automatically with a tracking message to the customer. Sales figures written into your accounting system rather than retyped.

On the storefront itself, the two things that reliably move revenue are speed and checkout friction. We measure both and report them, because a store that takes six seconds to load on a mid range Android phone is losing orders regardless of how it looks on a designer's monitor.

Deliverables

What we build

Themes, storefront customisation and private apps against the admin API.

WooCommerce development

Custom checkout, product configuration, plugins and performance work.

Custom storefronts

Headless or fully custom commerce where the standard platforms do not fit the model.

Payment integration

Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal, UPI, subscriptions and refunds, with reconciliation.

Inventory and courier automation

Channel sync, stock reconciliation, courier dispatch and customer tracking messages.

Abandoned cart and lifecycle flows

Automated follow up over email and WhatsApp.

Process

How a e-commerce development project runs

Written scope and a fixed quote before anything is built, then visible progress at every stage.

  1. 1

    Scope

Catalogue size, channels, payment methods, shipping rules and the systems the store must talk to.

  2. 2

    Design

Storefront design focused on the paths that end in checkout.

  3. 3

    Build

Store, payments and integrations built together rather than integrations bolted on afterwards.

  4. 4

    Test

Real payment sandboxes, edge cases, refund flows and mobile performance measured on mid range devices.

  5. 5

    Operate

Reconciliation jobs, monitoring and lifecycle automation running from launch day.

Who this is for

You will get the most from this if…

Brands outgrowing a basic store

Orders are up and the manual work behind each one is now the constraint.

Multi channel sellers

Marketplace and website stock disagree, and somebody reconciles it by hand.

Businesses launching online

You need the store, the payments and the fulfilment flow set up together.

Engineering rates

What this costs

We publish a rate band rather than a project price, because a project price without a scope is a guess. Once we understand the work we convert it into a fixed written quote, so you carry no open ended risk.

E-Commerce Development

From $10 / hour

Typical band: $10 to $28 per hour

Platform builds sit at the lower end. Custom commerce and deep integration work sits higher.

Why us

What makes this different from the other quote you are getting

An eight person engineering team, with a dedicated designer and a dedicated tester, shipping production software since 2017. The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it.

  • Payment and integration engineering is a core specialism, not something we subcontract.
  • Reconciliation between store, gateway and accounts is part of the build, so discrepancies are caught by software.
  • Mobile performance measured on mid range Android devices, where most Indian traffic actually is.
  • Years of Shopify and WooCommerce delivery for clients in the US and UK, not a first attempt.

Questions

E-Commerce Development, frequently asked questions

Shopify when you want hosting, security and payments handled and you can work within its model; it is faster to launch and cheaper to run day to day. WooCommerce when you need unusual product logic, deep WordPress content integration or full control of the stack. We build both and recommend on your catalogue and operations rather than on preference.

Yes, and this is where most of the ongoing value sits. Orders to courier with automatic tracking messages, sales into your accounting system, and stock reconciled across channels on a schedule with alerts when the numbers diverge.

Yes. We measure first on a throttled mobile connection, then work through images, scripts, theme code and server response. You get the before and after numbers rather than an assurance.

Yes, on a monthly retainer covering platform updates, security, monitoring, reconciliation checks and small changes.
