What is gis & mapping solutions?
A GIS web application lets people query and act on location data in a browser: which assets fall inside a boundary, which route is shortest, how a value varies across a region. RegalBit Solutions builds GIS applications with CesiumJS, PostGIS, Leaflet and Mapbox, and has delivered a full satellite imagery ordering platform with polygon drawing, KML and KMZ processing, vendor tracking, area restrictions, a wallet system and payment integration.
This is genuine specialist work and it is rare in this region. Our founders have been handling geospatial data since well before RegalBit, including GIS web interfaces and KML, GeoJSON and polygon geometry processing for government and enterprise clients at IDS Infotech, and the experience shows in the parts of a GIS project that are easy to get wrong.
The technical core is PostGIS, the spatial extension for PostgreSQL. It lets you ask real questions in SQL, such as which points fall within this polygon or what lies within two kilometres of this route, with proper spatial indexing so the answer returns in milliseconds rather than minutes. The alternative, loading everything into the browser and computing there, stops working at a few thousand features.
On the browser side we build with CesiumJS where the work is three dimensional or globe scale, Leaflet for lightweight interactive maps, and Mapbox or MapLibre where vector tiles and very large datasets demand it. The engineering challenge is almost always performance: rendering fifty thousand features without freezing a mid range phone requires clustering, tiling and simplification chosen deliberately.
Projection and coordinate system handling is where most GIS bugs originate, and they are expensive to find late. We get the SRIDs right at the schema stage.

Doing the same work in the browser stops being viable at a few thousand features.
Yes. Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, KMZ, GPX, CSV with coordinates and direct database connections are all standard inputs. We validate geometry, fix invalid polygons, reproject to a consistent SRID and load into PostGIS.
CesiumJS when the work is three dimensional or globe scale, such as satellite imagery ordering. Leaflet when the map is two dimensional and the dataset is modest; it is lightweight and free. Mapbox or the open MapLibre when vector tiles and very large datasets are involved. We choose on your data and budget and explain the trade off.
